Our goal is to advance the high quality of classical ballet and traditional theatre in the Washington, DC area through performance support and the training of artists. We believe that access to the arts enriches the community, and providing equitable access is a key goal of ours; therefore, we require grantees to use 10% of grant funds to provide free tickets to students from nearby school districts who would otherwise be unlikely to attend performances.

• We seek opportunities to fund grants to:

  • Enhance organizational capacity for smaller arts organizations

  • Encourage sustainability of theatre and ballet nonprofits in the greater DC area

  • Develop theatre audiences

  • Diversify audiences, performers, and staff through community engagement, especially to underserved communities

• We support local organizations using local actors and dancers to produce English language traditional/classical theatre and classical ballet.

• We actively seek to fund community-based groups, requests targeting underserved populations, and proposals addressing the issues of diversity of age, race, and physical ability.
