The William S. Abell Foundation makes grants to IRS-qualified, tax exempt organizations, regardless of religious or other affiliation.

The Foundation is interested in awarding grants to projects that will have an demonstrable impact on the community. Grants are not made to individuals and consecutive year requests are not typically accepted.

The Foundation awards grants through the following:

• William S. Abell Foundation grants are awarded quarterly to groups that help the hungry, intellectually disabled, homeless, abused women and children, and assist needy pregnant women in delivering and caring for their infants. Grants typically do not exceed $25,000.

• Margaret Abell Powell Fund grants are awarded in June and December to goups producing traditional/classical ballet and traditional/classical theater.
